This is the best Mexican food I've ever had, and I've been to authentic Mexico (not a resort). Every time, the staff is amazing, the food is great, the prices are the best, and I leave happier than ever. This is my favorite restaurant.

I guess this would be a good place if you like Margaritas, but I was only here for the food, which was horrendous. It was absolutely flavorless, except for the flavor of rust and iron from the hot pan that my fajitas came in. I was with 4 other people, and nobody enjoyed the food. My only positive comment is the staff was very friendly. Still, I had to get up and ask someone to finally take our order. The churros were good, but how can anyone NOT like fried sugar ?

I like this place. Its everything you would expect from a middle of the road Mexican joint. Portion sizes are huge. Cheap drinks.

I have been to this restaurant 3 times now and figured I should leave a review if I keep going back. Every time I have been here the staff is always friendly talking in both Spanish and English which is great since to me they are also teaching the customers another language. I try new dishes each time and every time I have had so much food I have to take it to go. The chili rellanos is wonderful as well as the 100 Anos burrito was fantastic. Great environment, great food, great prices....what else can you ask for?

My family and I always enjoy our visits to Tequila's. We have been here a handful of times and have never eaten indoors. There's something about a summer afternoon lunch on the patio that keeps us coming back. The service has always been good and the chips and salsa stay refreshed. I can't comment on the overall quality of the food, since I go for the "cheater" "American" dish called "taco salad" when I come here. Of course...a fried taco shell is always good...and it's good here. I've never had a disappointing experience here and I've always been happy with how nice the service is.

My husband and I have been to this restaurant twice, both times the food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Our drinks were delicious and they were not skimpy on the booze. This place is a must go to, if you are mood for Mexican cuisine with hospitality.

We love this place. We are here visiting from AZ and this place does not take a back seat to any of our Mexican restaurants. Huge portions and great prices. Family owned. Everyone is so friendly. Can't wait to visit again.

Best Mexican food in town. Good portions, great prices. The hospitality is always top notch and when the weather is nice the patio is a good place for a beverage.

The service is great and the food is amazing. I've been there quite a few time now and have never had anything I didn't like. If you like it hot and spicy, get the Camarones (shimp) a la Diavla. It is delish! They actually let us in last night around 15 minutes before closing and the food was still fresh and hot. They saved this hungry girl from starvation lol! Also, they have a great outdoor area.

My lunch spot!! Great lunch specials, awesome chips and salsa and wonderful staff make this the best Mexican eatery in Rock Hill.

In my esteemed opinion as a connoisseur of fine Mexican cuisine, I would count Tequila as probably the best restaurant of its type in Rock Hill, SC. All of the standard combination plates are delicious and plentiful, but the crown jewel of the menu are the Tacos Asada. These are authentic Mexican beef tacos on your choice of flour or corn tortillas, NOT the typical Americanized ground beef, cheese, lettuce and tomato tacos in a hard shell. Tender cubes of steak, a little pico de gallo and an auspiciously orange-colored burn-your-face-off hot sauce are all you need. Tequila's bar selection is not an overly impressive collection catering to beer snobs, but it perfectly complements the cuisine with a worthy selection of Mexican beers and tequilas. The staff is always friendly, and the service is always very good. There might be more popular Mexican restaurants in town, but there certainly aren't any better.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Rock Hill! You can enjoy delicious Mexican food at a great price...the lunch menu has many items to choose from and I haven't had anything from this place that wasn't excellent!

Not the best, chicken fajita where chewy, sauce tasted old. Wife had something on her plate she could not identify. Booth seats where all ripped up. Chips and cheese was ok. Would not go back. YUCK

A great place for a semi authentic Mexican meal. I have always found it a great value and mostly speedy, even when the place is packed. And they make a great 'cherry coke' with grenadine and lots of maraschinos!

Some of the best Mexican I've tried in Rock Hill. The salsa actually has a little bit of heat to it, and the service is great. Atmosphere is your hole in the wall Mexican restaurant which always means its delicious. Definitely try the huge burrito with steak. It's awesome!

Food is ok. El cancan isn't much better. But if you go on up to Oakland ave turn rit and immediately on your left is el caribe. It is fantastic.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
